History of Our society

Founded on May 11, 1929 in Austin, Texas, Dr. Annie Webb Blanton and 11 other friends believed that there was a need for an orginzation that women educators from any level, might be united for efforts toward better professional preparation, recognition of women’s work in the teaching profession, and scholarships for those needing aid in improving their professional preparation.

These trailblazing efforts began Delta Kappa Gamma. Now, almost 100 years later, we are an international society that has chapters in 17 different countries.

Who is delta upsilon?

Delta Upsilon Chapter was organized and established on May 4, 1957 by honorary founding sister Eula Lee Carter and Phyllis Ellis. Our mother chapter were Beta Omicron, Gamma, and Delta Mu.
